Day 7

Subject: Time to take action, [firstname]!

Hey [firstname]!

Now you know what qualities you need to be an entrepreneur, and a bit about what's involved in starting and running your own business, there's just one thing left to do: Get started!

The first thing to do is look around for wants and needs. Think about how can YOU fill them. The world is a very diverse place. There are LOTS of things you can put your mind to, and (like I said the other day) ANYTHING can be made into a business provided there is a market for it.

Look at things in your own life. What do you like to do? Look at your domestic life and your working life. What would make life easier for you? What would make life easier for your family, friends or co-workers?

Take a look at the TV news there are always stories about people in difficulty or suffering adversity. What could help them? Can the solution be turned into a product or service?

Next, you'll need to see if the solution is do-able, and whether or not someone has already beaten you to it. If someone has, don't worry. Take a look at their solution and see if you can improve on it make it better, cheaper, faster, more efficient, more cost effective etc. If someone HASN'T beaten you to it, delve deeper. Maybe someone has tried and failed in the past. If so, maybe you can spot where they went wrong and save yourself a heap of time and trouble. Proceed with cautious optimism.

If you're the first person to think of the solution, that's great! Get on with developing your product or service before someone else does. Delve deep and see if this idea is going to be a money-spinner or a loss-maker.

Then define your goal and set out to achieve it. Be fearless, and reap the rewards.

To your success!
